Hello, and thanks for considering my candidacy. My aspiration is to be a
CITIZEN PUBLIC SERVANT, not a career politician. I consider public service a duty, not a
career opportunity or a family business.
I decided to enter the race because I am sure that the ultimate Democrat party nominee
will be someone with strong ties to the large machine that protected Blagojevich for
years, instead of taking a courageous path to replace him with an honest Democrat for
governor.
Ask this question: Who in the field of Democrats seeking this seat showed any courage by
standing up and suggesting that their party choose somebody other than Rod Blagojevich for
the 2006 election? And remember, there was a Federal prosecutor investigating, and there
were plenty of Blagojevich associates already in trouble before the 2006 election. Now,
these same politicians, the Johnny-come-lately reformers, want a PROMOTION to the federal
level! Do you trust them in higher office? Do you trust them with MORE money? Do you trust
them with MORE power? Do they deserve a second chance after what they allowed to happen in
Springfield?
I am not part of any large sponsoring organization, and no influential figure is anointing
me to be the next congressman. My entry into this race is purely grassroots. I
am unhappy with the rampant corruption in Illinois politics. I am unhappy with the
opportunism of elected officials in Illinois. I am unhappy with the disrespect shown for
elected office. If I win this election, it is because I persuaded voters that I am the
best candidate for the job. If elected, I will seek the input of the very diverse
population of the 5th district.
We need participation in government by ordinary citizens; people who make a living in the
private sector, and who see public service as a duty, NOT a career opportunity or a family
business! And we do not need more lawyers in government!
I believe we face two major challenges in Illinois, unemployment and public corruption.
